October 7 marks the one-year anniversary of the brutal and ongoing Israel Hamas conflict. Peace remains far from sight and the conflict appears to be spreading. To mark the heartbreaking anniversary, Christian faith groups are responding with prayer.

The Franciscan Action Network and Pax Christi USA will be holding a vigil for peace, with a primary focus on a ceasefire in Gaza, in front of the White House in Lafayette Park, DC. The vigil will be live-streamed on YouTube here.

Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) is hosting an Ecumenical Service of Lament on Zoom, preceded by an in-person drop-in prayer time from 11am to 2pm at at the Simpson Memorial Chapel, 1st Floor, United Methodist Building, 100 Maryland Ave NE, Washington, DC 20002.
