Faith Groups Pressure Big Banks to Phase Out New Fossil-Fuel Financing

Members of the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR) a coalition of over 300 global faith-based and values-based institutions have filed two shareholder proposals at six of the nation’s top banks calling on them to reduce their financing of fossil fuels.

113 Groups Tell TIAA to Divest from Fossil Fuels and Stop Land Grabs

October 28, 2021

In a letter laying out six demands, the groups reject TIAA’s promise to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050 as “greenwashing” and tell TIAA to fully divest from fossil fuels by 2025, and to immediately stop its acquisitions of farmland.
