Maryknoll and its international affiliates have been engaged in the struggle for peace and justice in the Middle East for many years. We support the work of Muslims, Christians, and Jews around the region who challenge of racism, political and economic inequality, military occupation, and who promote inter-religious dialogue. In Washington D.C., the Office for Global Concerns analyzes issues affecting the Middle East in its cultural and historical contexts so that U.S. citizens and law makers can make informed decisions about foreign policy and better understand this important and diverse region of the world.

Urge Congress to pass a resoution that would ensure the U.S. does not recognize nor fund the annexation of the occupied West Bank.
Churches for Middle East Peace, a coalition of which the Maryknoll Office for Global Concerns is a member, issued the following statement regarding the Secretary Pompeo’s implied support for Israel’s plan to annex portions of the West Bank.
The Maryknoll Office for Global Concerns joined other faith-based organizations in sending the following letter to the Trump administration urging the government to reconsider its use or support of sanctions or economic restrictions in the Middle East – particularly in Iran, Syria, and Gaza – in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Churches for Middle East Peace, a network of organizations working for peace in Israel-Palestine of which MOGC is a member, released the following statement on February 25 on the Trump administration’s “Peace to Prosperity” plan for Israel-Palestine.
Urge Congress to hold oppose this plan and any efforts to move forward with it, including efforts to annex settlements and the Jordan Valley.
