WHERE: Woodlands Room, St. Rose of Lima Catholic Parish, 11701 Clopper Rd., Gaithersburg, MD

WHAT: Meet Indigenous leaders from the Amazon – Learn about the struggles to maintain a way of life amidst threats of evictions from native lands. Learn how we can act on their behalf after they present their cases of human rights abuses to the United Nations later in the week.

Maryknoll Office for Global Concerns has been coordinating the journey of leaders of REPAM (the Pan-Amazonian Ecclesial Network), a Catholic Church network that promotes the rights and dignity of people living in the Amazon. These leaders are here to present to the United Nations for the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII). To learn more about the forum, check out this handy guide produced by the Justice Coalition of Religious.
