Rescheduled: Interfaith prayer vigil to close Guantanamo

Join the National Religious Campaign Against Torture (NRCAT) as it hosts a candlelight prayer vigil at the U.S. Capitol (new location!) on the eve of the five-year anniversary of President Obama’s Executive Order directing the closure of Guantanamo. Tragically, five years later Guantanamo remains open. Let us light up the night as we lift up in prayer the detained men, seek healing for a nation wounded by torture and human rights abuses, and call on President Obama to speed up transfers out of Guantanamo.

Now scheduled for Monday, January 27, 5:30 pm, east side of U.S. Capitol. Gather at 5:15 pm at the National Council of Churches conference room, 110 Maryland Avenue, NE (near 1st Street and Maryland Avenue, across from the Supreme Court.)
