Becoming nonviolent peacemakers: A virtue ethic for Catholic Social Teaching and U.S. policy
Please join us for the first mission forum of 2013 – we are honored to welcome Eli S. McCarthy Ph.D., Director of Justice and Peace for the Conference of Major Superiors of Men (CMSM).
Friday, March 15, 7-9 p.m.
Maryknoll Fathers & Brothers
1233 10th Street, N.W.
Washington, D.C.
(closest metro: Mt. Vernon Square/Convention Center, green/yellow lines)
Eli will speak on his new book, Becoming Nonviolent Peacemakers: A Virtue Ethic for Catholic Social Teaching and U.S. Policy. This will be an opportunity for rich sharing and conversation about some of the core practices that can respond to critical issues that our church and nation face today.
We will gather at 7 p.m. – after Eli’s presentation we will have Q&A/conversation, followed by some time for socializing.
Space is limited – please respond and let us know if you plan to attend: Contact us at ogc@maryknoll.org or call 202-832-1780.
And mark your calendars: Fr. Doug May, MM, who lives and works in Cairo, will join us on Thursday, April 18 to speak about the current reality in Egypt. An invitation will be circulated in March. This will be a popular event; due to space limitations we will need firm responses.
