Webinar: Venezuela Beyond the Headlines

As Venezuela navigates a pivotal and challenging moment in its history, the headlines often miss the most important element: the lived experience of the people on the ground.

We invite you to a special webinar hosted by the Maryknoll Office for Global Concerns featuring two returned lay missioners who have lived and served in Venezuela and other parts of Latin America. Our returned missioners bring a unique lens—having lived on the margins, walking in solidarity with those experiencing poverty and exclusion, blending years of cultural immersion with a deep commitment to Catholic Social Teaching and global justice.

Missioner Perspectives

During this webinar, our speakers will move beyond the news cycle to share the authentic perspectives of the Venezuelan and Latin American communities they remain deeply connected to. We will explore the most pressing social justice issues of this urgent moment, including:

  • Human Rights & Sovereignty: The current climate of civil liberties and the struggle for self-determination.
  • Economic Survival: How families are navigating hyperinflation and the scarcity of basic goods.
  • The Migration Crisis: The reality of those forced to leave and the resilience of those who stay.
  • Solidarity in Action: How the U.S. community can respond with empathy and effective advocacy.

There will be a live Q&A session following the presentation, allowing you to engage directly with our panelists.

We hope you will join us for this vital conversation as we seek to better understand and support our brothers and sisters in Venezuela.
