Torture Awareness Month

from our friends at the National Religious Campaign Against Torture:

Now that known torturer Gina Haspel has been sworn in as our new CIA Director, we must do what we can to ensure that neither she, nor anyone else, can ever bring back the CIA’s torture program.  The first step is to ensure that Senators hear that their constituents were watching how they voted on Ms. Haspel.

We’ve prepared sample emails thanking those Senators who voted against confirming Ms. Haspel, and expressing disappointment in Senators who voted to confirm her.  You can find out how your Senators voted, and send our sample emails (or write your own!) here.

Please write to your Senators

We need them to know that their constituents were watching their vote.  Senators who voted against confirmation deserve our thanks.  And Senators who voted to confirm Ms. Haspel deserve to know that their constituents are unhappy with them. Click here to take action.

June is Torture Awareness Month

There is still time to join NRCAT and faith communities nationwide in planning a Torture Awareness Month activity during the month of June to Learn, Pray and Act to End Torture. Here are some resources to help you get started.
