Urgent – TPS for Haitians

Your action is needed urgently! Lawmakers are trying to gather enough signatures to force a vote on House Resolution 1689, which would extend Temporary Protected Status for Haitians for another three years. They need 218 signatures to bypass committee and with 207 now, we are just 11 Representatives short of making a critical impact.

This is about protecting vulnerable communities and ensuring the U.S. doesn’t turn its back on our Haitian neighbors. One quick call could help push us over the finish line.

Congress must step up to provide protection for Haitian families who cannot safely return home. We only need 11 more Representatives to sign on. Ask your representative to act now by following this script:

  • Dial (202) 224-3121 and tell the operator your zip code or the name of your representative.
  • Use this script or elaborate on your thoughts: Hi, my name is _____ and I’m a constituent from _____ [City, State, District]. As your constituent and a person of faith, I urge you to sign Congresswoman Pressley’s Discharge Petition 15, which would call a vote on HR 1689 to extend Temporary Protected Status for Haitians. Currently, there are at least 207 signatories who have signed on and stood with Haitian immigrants, and your support could be what the petition needs to reach 218.

This is about protecting vulnerable communities and ensuring the U.S. doesn’t turn its back on our Haitian neighbors. One quick call could help push us over the finish line.
