Prayer Vigil for Immigrants, March 24
For those near Washington, DC, we invite you to join us for a special prayer vigil at the National ICE Headquarters in support of our immigrant community. All are welcome to attend this nonviolent public witness of love and solidarity. As people of faith, we reject the culture of fear and silence that dehumanizes, and we choose instead to stand with migrants.
What: Prayer Vigil in Support of Our Immigrant Community
Date: Tuesday, March 24
Time: 4:30–5:30 PM
Location: ICE Headquarters, 500 12th Street SW (near L’Enfant Plaza Metro Station; also accessible via Smithsonian Metro)
On March 24, we commemorate the feast day of St. Oscar Romero, Archbishop and martyr of El Salvador, who gave his life in defense of the poor and oppressed. His powerful witness continues to inspire us to speak out against injustice and to stand in solidarity with those whose voices are too often silenced.
“In the name of God, in the name of this suffering people, whose laments rise up each day more tumultuously toward heaven, I beg you, I beseech you, I order you in the name of God: stop the repression.”
We hope you can join us in this time of prayer, reflection, and faithful presence.
