Say No to Increased ICE Funding!

Scroll down to tell your Members of Congress to oppose the budget reconciliation bill.

This week, Congress is planning to advance a reconciliation bill that would allocate an additional $70 billion for immigration enforcement over the next three years, without any accountability or guardrails. This would enable ICE to effectively quadruple its capacity, and include billions for expanded detention and enforcement, even while American families face rising costs and devastating cuts to healthcare and food assistance.

As people of faith, we know budgets are moral documents and should reflect our shared values. Our government spending should support human needs and invest in our communities rather than reinforcing abusive enforcement tactics, family separations, wrongful arrests, and inhumane detention conditions. The bill offers massive new funding with no meaningful accountability or reforms.

We’re calling on Congress to VOTE NO on this harmful reconciliation package and reject more blank checks for enforcement agencies at the expense of our communities.
