Oppose Forced Relocation of Afghan Allies

Scroll down to tell your Members of Congress to oppose the forced relocation of Afghan allies.

More than 1,100 Afghan allies and their families remain stranded at Camp As Sayliyah (CAS) after the suspension of refugee processing earlier this year. CAS was intended to be a temporary transit and processing facility in Qatar to vet and prepare Afghan evacuees before they relocated to the U.S. These are interpreters, embassy staff, women’s rights advocates, journalists, judges, and family members of active-duty U.S. servicemembers who served alongside the United States, risking their lives. Every person at CAS was vetted and approved for U.S. resettlement.

Now, reports show that the administration is considering transferring these families to third countries, including the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a nation also facing armed conflict and humanitarian crisis.

More than 900 Americans and organizations have signed an open letter opposing this proposal, including MOGC, over 200 veterans, more than 70 faith leaders, retired ambassadors, and concerned citizens. Together we  are calling on the United States to uphold its commitments and protect Afghan allies from forced relocation to unsafe conditions.

As people of faith, we believe the United States has a moral obligation to honor the promises made to those who served alongside us. Scripture calls us to welcome the stranger, protect the vulnerable, and act with integrity toward those who placed their trust in us.

Take Action:

Read, share, and sign the open letter.

Contact your members of Congress and urge them to oppose any forced transfer of Afghan allies from Camp As Sayliyah to unsafe third countries.
